In partnership with the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University, the Policy Summit will include a series of sessions on policy and copyright law implications as the Open Music Initiative progresses toward establishing an interoperable platform.
All OMI members are encouraged to join us, and contribute to the discussion. The Summit is a members-only event, to be followed by a public session, with more details to come. (OMI Members can see Basecamp for more details.)

The Open Music Initiative (OMI) is an initiative of the Berklee Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship (BerkleeICE), in collaboration with the MIT Media Lab, other academic institutions and over 140 companies from across the music industry ecosystem. Its aim is to create a shared, open protocol for music rights owner and creator identification.

Open Music Initiative is a non-profit collective of musicians, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, academics, technologists and policy experts who love and value music. Its mission is to promote and advance the development of open source standards and innovation related to music rights and all their associated uses. Utilizing today's technologies and open source mindset, Open Music believes the way music rights owners are identified and compensated can be radically improved for digital era sustainability.
